The international student recruitment landscape is ever-changing, and UK universities are continually seeking to maximise opportunities in their approach to attracting, and retaining, international students. Recent shifts in the funding and policy landscape in the US appear to herald a significant opportunity for UK universities as the latest data indicates a pivot of US prospects to the UK market.
Our new collaborative insight project will provide crucial, robust, quantitative and qualitative evidence for international marketing and recruitment teams looking to maximise this potential US opportunity, enabling them to build successful campaigns based on UG and PGT decision-making insights of US prospects.
Why join this project?
- Inform your strategies and tactics for communicating and engaging with prospective UG and PGT students from the US
- Provide evidence to increase the effectiveness of your university’s recruitment and marketing activities with prospects from the US
- Identify opportunities for new initiatives, support or information provision that could assist with US prospects’ decision-making
- Provide an evidence base to secure the necessary funding for new work/initiatives, and engage stakeholders in a joined-up approach to maximising US recruitment
What will the project explore?
The quantitative and qualitative research materials will be shaped in conjunction with the universities who choose to participate in this research project, based around the following crucial questions:
How does is work and what are the costs?
The strategic national collaborative insight costs £4,950 + VAT to participate in and includes:
- Fresh, quantitative evidence will be captured through a survey with 1,000 prospects:16-24-year-olds in the US who are considering university (UG or Master’s) at home or abroad
- Fresh qualitative evidence will be generated through 20 x 30-minute interviews with prospects (UG and PGT) looking at studying in the UK, exploring the themes which arise from the quantitative data in more depth.
- A smart, succinct, highly visual report with practical recommendations to help you better engage with and support US prospects in their decision-making.
- We’ll bring together participating institutions in online events to shape the project and to discuss the findings and ideas for action
The project will complete by March 2026, so please get in touch now to arrange to talk if you’re interested to hear more about how you can join us, and the 3 universities who are already confirmed to participate.
